About Us

Our Story

On October 4, 2020, we began to discuss the dream of planting a new church, praying  with a core team of people to see Jesus do a new work in South Florida. After much prayer, vision-casting, and training – we publicly launched as a church in West Boca on January 24, 2021. Pastors Cliff McCray and Cameron Debity were the founding Co-Lead Pastors of Radiant City Church.

On September 10, 2023, after fully transitioning through all the challenges of church planting during a pandemic, Radiant City relaunched with renewed vision to engage the City of Boca and Campus of Florida Atlantic University (FAU) under Pastor Cliff’s leadership. By God’s grace, in June of 2024, Radiant City moved into a building in the heart of the city in Downtown Boca Raton, just 1.3 miles away from the FAU’s Campus…

Over the past two years, we’ve seen God do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine; dozens of baptisms, lives changed, and so much more. God is still writing a story only He could write as we are currently preparing to plant our first church in Fall of 2026.”

Gather and Scatter

We are structured both as a Gathered and a Scattered church. WE GATHER on Sundays as a family on mission, and we SCATTER throughout the week as families on mission in City Groups (missional communities). We launched 9 New City Groups shortly after launching that are meeting all throughout South Florida.

From day one, we have believed that South Florida is a place with great Gospel need and worth giving our lives to. West Boca is extremely beautiful and at the same time extremely broken. There is a heart-shaped hole here that only God can fill. We are looking forward to doing our part to push back spiritual darkness in South Florida and Beyond, with the light of Jesus!

Elders

A unique cultural component of Radiant City is that she is served by Co-Lead Pastors. The Lead Pastors are to serve as equals in providing visionary and directional leadership, spiritual oversight, and strategic implementation of the church’s vision, mission, and core values. Ben will be moving from Omaha, NE in the coming months to join Cliff as his Co-Lead Pastor. We can’t wait!

We believe the highest level of servant leadership in the church resides in the office of eldership. These are men who are qualified according to Biblical standards (1Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9), set apart by the Holy Spirit (Acts 20:28), and called to serve the church through shepherding and oversight. We consider Elders to be the servant leaders of Radiant City Church. Our Elders are to point the congregation to Jesus, who is the head and Chief Shepherd of the church (1Peter 5:4).

CLIFF MCCRAY JR.

Lead Pastor

Cliff serves as Lead Pastor at Radiant City giving primary leadership to the vision & direction of the church. Cliff loves preaching the Word of God. He is passionate about disciple-making & church planting: equipping & mobilizing believers to reach the lost & teach the found. Coming in early 2026

Ben serves alongside Cliff as a Lead Pastor at Radiant City and is a shepherd at heart with giftings in teaching, counseling, and pastoral care. He is passionate about helping people have healthy and thriving relationships with God and others marked by vulnerability, peacemaking, and Christ-like love. Originally from Oklahoma, Ben has a wide variety of life experiences that have enabled him to connect with and serve others in meaningful ways and in various contexts, including military service, hospital chaplaincy, and international adoption.

Ben is married to Joy, and they have two children: Eli and Liki. Together they enjoy the outdoors, hosting friends and building relationships, cooking the most amazing meals, and laughing often.

Deacons

We believe that office of deacon is of paramount importance in the life of the church. If Elders “serve the church by leading,” then Deacons “lead in the church by serving.” These men and women meet the Biblical qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3:8-13. Our Deacons serve the congregation by taking care of the physical and logistical needs of the church so that the Elders may focus on their primary calling.

GARY SHIELDS

Staff Team

The Elders of Radiant City are called to set the direction & vision for the church. The staff then, similar to the deacons, are called to help practically carry out that vision & direction. The primary calling for staff is to equip the saints for the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:12). We believe staff personnel are those called to vocational ministry for the equipping of the church or their development for future ministry.

Mission, Vision, & Values

Our Mission

To expand God’s Kingdom by multiplying disciples and churches.

Our Vision

We are a diverse family on mission, devoted to pushing back darkness with the light of Jesus.

WE GATHER | SUNDAYS

Just as Christians have been doing for 2,000+ years, Radiant City gathers on Sundays as a family to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. We gather on Sundays to sing the Gospel in song, to hear the Gospel through faithful preaching, to remember the Gospel during the Lord’s supper, and to respond to the Gospel in all of life worship. These Sunday gatherings serve the broader mission of multiplying disciples and churches, equipping disciples of Jesus to scatter into City Groups, and eventually multiply churches.

WE SCATTER | CITY GROUPS & DNA'S

We scatter throughout the week in City Groups and DNA Groups. City Groups and DNA’s are the primary place where we see discipleship happen. City Groups are groups of roughly 8-14 people who are growing in the Gospel, living as family, and learning to live as disciples as they love and serve their neighbors in tangible ways.  DNA groups are extensions of City Groups (3-5 people) where people engage in deeper discipleship for spiritual formation and transformation. As disciples multiply within Radiant City, so will our City Groups and churches.

Our Values

MULTIPLICATION

"WE LIVE ON MISSION."

Fulfilling the Great Commandment and Great Commission is our heart’s desire and within the veryDNA of Radiant City. One theologian is known to have said it this way; “every Christian is either a missionary or an imposter.” It is our responsibility to equip every member within our body to both declare and demonstrate the Gospel and  to live on mission wherever they live, learn, work, and play for the sake of the Gospel and good of the City.

GOSPEL CENTRALITY

"We grow as a spiritual family."

In 1 Corinthians 15 Paul reminds the church that the good news of Jesus, the Gospel, is of first importance. Just as the Bible is centered on the person and work of Jesus (see Luke 24:27) we want our congregation to be centered on Christ. The Gospel is something believers grow deeper into and never graduate from. We want our spiritual identities to be shaped by what God has done for us in Christ and not in what we do for God.

DIVERSE FAMILY

“We pursue all people.”

By God’s grace, our desire is to be a multi-generational and multi-ethnic family. This is something we celebrate and strive for based on texts like Psalm 145:8, “One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.” And the heavenly worship scene we see in Revelation 7, as people from every tribe, tongue, and nation are worshipping around the throne of the lamb. We aspire for Radiant City to be a picture of heaven on Earth.

AUTHENTIC WORSHIP

“We lead people to worship Jesus.”

Worship is a right response to the revelation of who God is. Truth without emotion produces a church full of artificial admirers. On the other hand, emotion without truth produces empty frenzy and cultivates shallow people who refuse the discipline of rigorous thought. But true worship comes from people who are deeply emotional and who love deep and sound doctrine. Strong affections for God rooted in truth are the bone and marrow for biblical worship.

PRAYERFUL DEPENDENCE

“We pray as if everything depends on God… because it does!”

We take seriously Christ’s words in John 15:5, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. We understand the sources of our effectiveness for our mission and ministry isn’t our gifts and competencies. The kingdom of God will only move ahead in South Florida through the power of the Holy Spirit. We are trusting God to do what only he can do!
